Lego Man: The Founding
Posted in Uncategorized on October 14, 2008 by stjimmy8gMy name is Timmy Thomson and this is my story…
It all started the 1st day of the 1st week of the 1st holidays for the year. When me and my 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 god knows what and my parents piled into our 5 seater station wagon. We where starting on a joyous trip to Lego Land. Insert sarcastic sigh.
My brothers are 6 and 7, great ages for Lego Land, sisters 5 and 8. Perfect and my god knows what is god knows how old but I’m sure He will enjoy it but me I am 16 and haven’t played with Lego since I was between 5 and 8 so this is not going to be as great for me as it will be for them. Oh Yea and did I mention that me and my darling family live about 2500 miles from the lovely San Diego in a small picturesque city called Boston.
Trah-lah-lah skip the boring car trip….
“Yay” the family exclaimed upon our arrival at Lego Land “Yay” I exclaimed
To humor my eagerly awaiting family.
We entered the “fun” park and for every step I took it got worse and worse, the rides went up to an exhilarating 20 miles an hour if they moved at all and by half way threw the day I was bored senseless and kept sane by telling myself over and over “just around the corner” I would say “just this corner then all my boyhood dreams will come true……..in Lego” man I hate Lego with its inny bits and its outty bit and all it is just dull boring lifeless plastic.
Now that that is out of the way.
After I turned that corner I flipped out and stormed off into the distance and by the time I looked up from the ground I looked up and I was completely lost, I panicked I ran, faster and faster in what I thought was the way I came. I was disorientated.
I heard a voice I ran towards it. It was faint so I kept running and I approached it got louder and louder but I could only just work out what the voice was saying it was very slurred but something like “goawaydon’tcomeanycloserori’llcallsecurityoushouldn’tbehere” then I as I got closer it got clearer “goawaydon’t comeanycloser ori’llcall securityyou shouldn’tbehere” then my jaw dropped I saw a man sitting on a Lego block outside a door marked ‘DO NOT ENTER UNDER ANY SERCOMSTANCE’ as the man once more said but as clear as day “go away, don’t come any closer or I’ll call security you shouldn’t be here.
I turned and heard a click. I was shaking. I turned around slowly. And to my surprise
The man had not left his seat. I looked around for the source of the noise and saw the door slowly swinging open. The man spoke “enter” that was all he said he walked away, without leaving any time for questions.
I entered.
It was a whit room (Lego of course) and all that stood in this room was me and a table. I approached the table with caution to find a small transparent piece of Lego and an envelope that read do not open until you get home.
Dazed and confused I took both the Lego piece and the envelope and vacated the room. But when I exited I had walked into the middle of the main courtyard just behind where my parents were standing. I turned to see that the building had vanished. Slipped the letter and the logo piece in my pocket an met up with my family the y were sooooooooo not worried where I was the 1st words they said where “did you have fun?” I didn’t answer them I just stared blankly at them and asked “can we go home now I’m not feeling the best” and with that we returned to the car for another joyous drive home.
Trah-lah-lah skip the boring car trip….
As soon as I arrived home I rushed to my room to read the envelope.
I sat on my bead I ripped it open the card read “Eat up” at first I was completely bewildered then I had a thought, surely not the Lego piece. No way it couldn’t mean could it? But me being a mental 16 year old boy gave it a try and man will I come to regret that decision.
